Bouygues Energies & Services as part of a joint venture with solar specialists abakus solar AG, has commissioned three solar farms in the UK for Low Carbon (the financial investor). This successful operation enables Bouygues to showcase its full-service offering in the UK's photovoltaic market.

Bouygues Energies & Services carried out the civil and electrical construction works on the three projects, while abakus solar AG was responsible for the engineering and design of the three solar farms (see the map)

  • Berwick, East Sussex
  • Bottom Plain, Dorset, for which Bouygues also handled the connection to the grid
  • Great Wilbraham, Cambridgeshire - one of the largest solar farms in the UK.

The joint venture, abakus BYes Solar UK Ltd, will also be in charge of providing the three solar farms with O&M services for 5 years.

"The photovoltaic market is now a significant part of our activities in the UK, as we have  already commissioned 3 solar farms with potentially another 10 solar farm projects in 2015" said Edward Peeke, director of Bouygues E&S Infrastructure UK Limited.
