Doing Our Part

At Bouygues Energies & Services, giving back to the community as well as exceeding our clients’ expectations are deeply embedded in our values. At every level of the organisation, our employees are encouraged to give their best, bring ideas to life, and support and taking care of others. 

During this challenging time, it is great to see so many of our staff raise their hands to offer their help where needed, especially in our healthcare contracts where we provide critical support to the NHS. Bill, Jo and Peter kindly agreed to share their experience with us.  

Bill, Senior Operations Manager for our Mobile Team said “I am volunteering to support people like my wife, who is working on a COVID-19 ward. They need our help and we are here for them. 

It is really important for me to show that at a critical time and as a manager you stand with your engineers at the forefront of the services you deliver.”

Jo, Lead Interior Designer said: “I know how complex and sometimes stressful the nature of the job can be on site, even in a normal working environment. As my design work has slowed down I realised that my skillsets could be used to relieve the on site management team so they can concentrate on their priorities.

The work that I am doing supporting our healthcare contracts is very different from my normal day job. I am helping with administration tasks such as setting up rotas to keep track of our people on site. I am also helping the team with projects such as food supply management which is adapting to follow our supplier’s recommendations and government advice. I feel very proud to be able to support our NHS alongside my front line colleagues to save lives.”

Everyone can make a difference.

Peter, first year Electrical Engineering Apprentice said: “In this difficult time, I wanted to help. I wanted to do my part for the country and support the NHS and the running of the hospital. We are supporting the front line workers who are doing an incredible job, we have to protect and help each other and do our best to contribute.

From the second I arrived on site, the maintenance team welcomed me with open arms and straight away I started to assist them with their workload. This is a great learning opportunity for me as well as a fantastic human experience.”

When we asked them if they would recommend this experience, their response was unanimous. They encourage everyone to help out, however big or small their contribution, on site or at home, because we are all in this together.
