The past two years have been incredibly tough for everyone, especially for those who find themselves in hospital over the festive period. Therefore, the Bouygues E&S Solutions team at the John Radcliffe Hospital partnered up with the Oxford Hospitals Charity (OHC) to help with their Christmas initiative and spread some cheer amongst the hospitals OHC support. Bouygues E&S staff rallied together and volunteered their time to pack a staggering 1,500 patient packs and 45 staff hampers full of little treats and essentials in just over a day. Over 800 of these packs and hampers were distributed amongst 18 departments and 32 patient wards at the John Radcliffe Hospital alone.

Bouygues E&S donated £1500 towards this initiative, as well as £500 towards the children’s Christmas toy donation. These sums were generously matched by our Client at the John Radcliffe Hospital, boosting the total to £4000. This collaboration is a demonstration of our commitment to support and work with the Hospital Trust as we continue our on-going contract for Hard Services.

The volunteering day was filled with Christmas music and mince pies leaving everybody who helped-out in high spirits. Kris Saric, Helpdesk and Compliance Manager, commented: “The day was good fun and really rewarding to support such a fantastic cause. Dave Holder, Reeta Masih, George Mellowship and myself all volunteered from the OJRH site. I would definitely be interested in supporting the charity again in the future as our support really makes a difference.”

Gregory Allouis, Strategic Solutions Director, also attended the day: “A big THANK YOU to our team at the John Radcliffe Hospital for giving me the opportunity to join them prepare gift bags for patients and staff... hopefully these little presents will lift-up the spirit of those who find themselves in hospital during this festive period.”

In the following days, Bouygues E&S employees Jack Jones, Sid Sharif, Naieem Khan and Chloe Leighton distributed the staff hampers across the Hospital with support from the Estates Department. Chloe Leighton, Graduate Trainee: “Coordinating this charitable collaboration between four different entities across the John Radcliffe Hospital has been a challenging yet rewarding experience, especially after seeing the smiles on both the staff and patients’ faces. Coming together and spreading joy is what Christmas is all about!”.
