This week we are hosting our Sustainability Week; a week-long event dedicated to boosting awareness and encouraging positive action for the planet.

To kick off the week, in honour of World Recycling Day on Friday, we are sharing more about our “Core Cleaning Chemicals” Single Use Plastics (SUPs) campaign at a selection of our high usage sites.

Supported by our Chief Executive, David Carr and our whole business, we kicked off the campaign in 2021. Working in collaboration with our long-term supply chain partner Hygiene Systems Limited our drive to reduce SUPs began.

Since the start of the campaign the 8 sites identified have saved 332KG of SUPs to date compared to the same period in a full usage year. The overall aim is 540KG which would amount to a reduction of 54% on SUPs across these sites.

A super effort by all those involved, and we have now rolled out the same campaign to our remaining sites in February 2022. We hope to report some great results from these sites in the coming months.

The aim is to reach the overall target of approximately 820 Kg SUPs savings for the business over the course of this year. Wish us luck!

The campaign we are running also featured on a Webinar we did in partnership with the SFMI (SUSTAINABLE FACILITIES MANAGEMENT INDEX) in July 2021: with whom we are a Platinum member. The Webinar was led by our Procurement Lead, Jehangir Ali and is available to view on YouTube here.
