Bouygues Energies & Services Invest in their team

With many corporate global companies people have a lot of misperceptions, and perceptions. Such as, if you join a global company you won’t be able to develop your skills further, and you won’t get support in developing your career. On the contrary, companies like Bouygues Energies & Services take great pride in nurturing, developing, and allowing their team to flourish.

As a company, Bouygues Energies & Services are making some incredible advances in the data centre market. Thanks to the initial investment they made allowing them to gain knowledge and skills. Most recently shown by their team on the Virtus London 8 Project led by Zoe Hamer – See information

Bouygues Energies & Services believe in supporting their team and providing them with opportunities to gain more knowledge, experience, and skills.

Emma Gould, Head of HR Bouygues Energies & Services, Contracting explains

“We have several avenues for our staff to gain new skills, the upskill programme is one of many that we have on offer, we encourage all our staff to take advantage of these opportunities,” said Emma Gould

Uptime Institute Accreditation

With the support of the company Maryam Ya-Alimadad, Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, Sam Caton, Senior Design Engineer, and Ben More, Principal Electrical Engineer, have recently achieved their Uptime Institute accreditation. A datacentre accreditation that provides a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical design practices with an in-depth understanding of real data centre principals. Ben More, Principal Electrical Engineer explains:

“Accreditation from uptime institute means I can now complete my designs to meet the customers’ specifications in line with the uptime Tier classification requirements.”

“Becoming accredited, and understanding tier criteria will help me design the system more efficiently according to the specified tier requirement.” Added Maryam Ya-Alimadad, Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

Improved level of service

The accreditation allows individuals to know exactly what is required by the client, no other certifications offer the same stature as the world-class Tier Certification. The team is now more confident and feel it will improve their level of service to the clients.

“It has improved my confidence within my electrical designs and also enabled me to have the confidence to question designs completed by others,” says Ben

The qualification can also help an individual be more productive as Maryam explains:

“I have gained a better understanding of Tier requirements and I believe this will help improve my design time.”

Open mind

All the extra qualifications broaden your horizons and you receive a certificate to show you are the right person for the job. But, on top of that you also gain knowledge and a wider perspective on different parts of a project and systems that you typically wouldn’t be involved in.

“The ATD course is improving my knowledge of systems I normally wouldn’t get involved in the design of such as mechanical cooling systems, make-up water systems, etc,” said Ben

Not only that, but it can also help your career progression, especially when it comes to qualifications that are recognised worldwide.
