The new data centre was to be located in the very centre of Marseille, in close proximity to public transport for improved accessibility. The 6200m² facility also needed to be designed to allow maintenance operations with no impact on service.

Bouygues Energies & Services were appointed as the design & build partner for this project. Our solution included a 6200m² facility with 16 MW dual grid connection, 2N+1 UPS redundancy and up to 99.999% availability SLA.

The data centre was designed with dual fibre entry to the building, providing access to more than 13 connectivity providers and direct access to France-XI, DE-CIX and NL IX internet exchanges. Our offer included the fit out of cabinets, cages and private rooms, as well as extensive security capabilities.

We installed advanced fire detection and suppression systems, including very early smoke detection apparatus (VESDA) and an inert gas fire suppression system to ensure business continuity. Our security provisions included CCTV, proximity cards and biometric entry, as well as optimal detectors positioned at regular intervals across the technical spaces. We implemented environmental controls to ensure optimised energy efficiency by installing chillers, cooling towers and cabinets in cold aisle containment. So, that the facility may be operated far beyond the industry minimum standards for energy.
