Bouygues Energies & Services achieve over 1.5 million hours without an accident on two prestigious sites.

The company takes steps to ensure that health and safety is a key element of their business strategy and how they operate and manage their projects. It is also an integral part of their business processes and guides everyday actions.

In 2017, Bouygues Construction launched its health and safety awareness campaign: “12 Health & Safety basics”.

Bouygues Energies & Services have fully adopted these basics, as a means of further enhancing their health & safety culture on all their pharmaceutical, cleanroom, data centre and biotechnology construction sites as well as their offices. The  aim of the “12 Health & Safety Basics” is to strengthen prevention and safety culture in the workplace and ensure a safe working environment. 

Anthony Gildea, Bouygues & Services, Contracting Health and Safety Director explains: "As a company we believe to operate in a truly safe environment, everyone must embrace the “12 Health and Safety basics” and make the related behaviours a natural part of daily work."

In Q1 2021 their team working on a cleanroom project in Scotland achieved an incredible 352 hours without an incident. Their data centres counterpart in a 1year period from 1st May 2020 achieved over 1.5 million hours without an incident. A true testament to the success of the Health and Safety campaign. 

By ensuring health and safety standards are of the highest level they can offer their clients a better level of service, deliver the project in the given timeframe and guarantee long term safety of the site. 

To guarantee they continue to move in the right direction the business has developed a number of approaches and tools to achieve their commitment and they are structured around the framework of ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO50001.
