Bouygues E&S Wins the Prestigious IHEEM Diversity & Inclusion Award!

We are delighted to announce that Bouygues Energies & Services is the winner of the IHEEM Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Award.

The 2022 Healthcare Estates IHEEM Awards, held yesterday at the beautiful Grade II-listed Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester, celebrated excellence and achievement in the industry and provided a great opportunity for our team and guests to network and be amongst the best in the healthcare sector.

This accolade is great recognition of our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and embedding this core value in our culture. Testament to this, is the variety of initiatives implemented across the business and our sites, particularly during recent periods of uncertainty. With the launch of our new D&I strategy in 2020, themed ‘Be Yourself’, attended by 200 colleagues from across the business, a D&I committee was created subsequently to bring together all the company’s employee-led diversity networks.

From the introduction of our anti-bullying campaign called ‘Speak Up’ with an external hotline, a Disability Confident Employer status and the creation of site-based trained FIR Ambassadors to a range of online D&I events including webinars and workshops, the award affirms the success of our D&I strategic approach and the benefits it has brought our teams working within the healthcare environment.

Diana Ciobotaru, Regional Digital Transformation Lead, who has played a key role in initiating and organising the aforementioned D&I activities, joined the team last night at the event, and enthused:

“It was certainly a proud moment to go up on stage with colleagues and our guests and be presented with this award. This incredible achievement inspires and encourages me to promote engagement, fairness and equality further, and in new and creative ways.”

Simon Hayman, Regional Director, added:

"What fantastic recognition from IHEEM of Bouygues E&S' Diversity and Inclusion drive in the Healthcare sector. I want to take this opportunity to say well done to Diana, the D&I team and employee-led D&I networks' lead, Amelle, who have been instrumental in this accomplishment."

Celebrating Bouygues E&S' winning status with our guests was integral to this occasion as Amelle Mestari, Director of Procurement and Sustainable Development, expresses:

“A big thank you to our guests who joined us last night to celebrate this occasion and accolade. This award acknowledges all our D&I efforts over the last couple of years in what has been unprecedented times, but above all the business’ commitment to maintaining an open and inclusive workplace. In turn, our teams are more dynamic, innovative and collaborative, which is reflected in the high-quality solutions we deliver to our healthcare clients.”

Joining the team in this momentous celebration was our CEO, David Carr, who concludes:

“Congratulations to the team on this triumph; I was very proud to see them collect the Diversity and Inclusion Award at yesterday’s ceremony. This will continue to empower our people to champion diversity and inclusion at work, but also inspire younger generations to consider a career in our progressively diverse and ever-evolving industry.”
