The results of the seventh Sustainable Facilities Management Index (SFMI) were announced today and we are thrilled to announce we have received the Gold award for the third year running.
‘At Bouygues Energies & Services, we choose to work with clients, partners and employees who share our long-term worldview, who seek to balance social, environmental and financial performance and who work in a transparent and collaborative way. The SFMI embodied all of these principles and we are delighted to be recognised again this year for leading the way in the FM industry. As leaders, we have a critical role to play to change behaviours and inspire everyone to rise to the climate emergency’ said Emmanuel Chautemps, Executive Director.
The SFMI is an annual assessment that rigorously compares FM companies for their demonstrable commitment to sustainability.
Presenting the leading companies, Chris Havers, Principal Sustainability Consultant, SFMI singled out Bouygues Energies & Services for their achievements and their continuous improvement since winning the rising star award in 2018.
As Sunil Shah, Director, Acclaro Advisory & SFMI said ‘With the FM industry in a prime position to lead the way on sustainability in the built environment, the SFMI is the UK’s only sustainability benchmark in the FM sector.’
We are proud to be amongst the very best FM companies for our sustainability initiatives and commit to continue prioritising this in all our business areas.
Our Sustainability Manager, Dave Farebrother commented ‘We worked hard this year to ensure we captured as much as we could of all the good work that colleagues are doing up and down the country as part of their daily jobs without even stopping to think that it is 'CSR', it’s just business as usual. However, as we have seen this year with our own Sustainability Awards, there are also plenty of initiatives that go above and beyond and reflect our sustainability culture’
The SFMI assessment focuses on three main categories; environmental, social and governance. The top companies prioritise sustainability as a core business consideration and display coherent and effective strategy throughout the business.
