Bouygues E&S Welcomes New 2022 Graduate Intake!

With the industry’s ongoing skills gap and the UK’s recruitment crisis, Bouygues Energies & Services(E&S) is as committed as ever to attracting talent into the business, which is why we invest heavily in our corporate graduate scheme. The award-winning two-year structured programme provides excellent personal and professional development opportunities, a strong support network and a competitive reward package.

At the start of the month, our new cohort of general management and finance graduates for 2022 joined the business, our 2021 cohort commenced their second year, and the cohort of 2020 assumed their permanent roles.

To welcome our new Bouygues E&S graduates to the business, we held a two-day induction. During this period, 17 graduates were introduced to the business as well as their new peers. After an opening by our CEO David Carr, the graduates were taken to Kings College London for a site tour to gain a deeper understanding of the services we provide there. The following day the graduates were familiarised with Becket House, our head office, where they had the opportunity to network with senior leaders within the company. Subsequently, the induction concluded with a team building activity where the graduates worked collaboratively to complete the exercise efficiently and within the allocated time.

The induction not only allowed the graduates to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business, see first-hand what we do on a live contract and network with peers and employees, but also to have clarity on what to expect over the next two years on the scheme.

The Graduate Scheme is an award-winning programme (Princess Royal Training Awards 2021), whereby everyone undertakes 2-4 rotations, learning on the job through structured training, mentoring and coaching. The scheme provides graduates with networking opportunities across the whole company and beyond, prior to settling in their chosen specialism.

Hannah Ley, 2022 General Management Graduate, said:

“My first glimpse into the graduate scheme so far has been exciting, and has really opened my mind to all the opportunities that Bouygues Energies and Services has to offer. The two induction days were informative and enjoyable – meeting so many other employees on these two days made starting my first placement a lot easier. I am already thinking about my future career as well as what I want to get out of the graduate scheme. I would love to end the two years with a career path that I am excited about, a strong network within the business, and a solid foundation to progress upon in my chosen area.”

Chloe Leighton, 2021 General Management Graduate, added:

“I am currently a second-year graduate on the Bouygues E&S General Management Scheme. So far, I have completed two placements in Operations at the John Radcliffe Hospital and Marketing & Communications at the Head Office. I have just embarked on my third placement in Digital Transformation and Innovation which I am excited to gain more experience in. This Graduate Scheme is great for those who have not yet decided which career path they would like to go down and would like to build on their professional skillset. I have enjoyed each placement I have found myself in and have learned a lot over the past year and grown as a person. I am looking forward to the nest year at Bouygues E&S and the challenges it will bring!”

While graduates commence and continue their journeys on the graduate scheme, others have been appointed in their new roles on completion.

Tate Parry, Business Performance Analyst, concluded the General Management Graduate Scheme in September 2022 and reflects on his experience:

“Being on the graduate scheme allowed me to gain an insight into how the business operates from head office to frontline, thanks to the rotational placement aspect. Having this understanding allowed me to get to grips with what I wanted for my career coming off the scheme, which the business was overwhelmingly supportive of. I developed a mixture of skills through my placements and other activities I was involved in during the programme which has put me in good stead for my current role.”

Adam Moore, Director of Learning & Talent Development, concludes:

“This time of year is one of my favourite times, welcoming those in the early stages of their career is a privilege. The new ideas, enthusiasm, willingness to learn and desire to make an impact have always made a big difference on the teams they join for their rotations. I look forward to getting to know and support the 2022 intake and base don what I saw in the induction they certainly seem up for the challenge.”

Good luck to all our new graduates and another huge congratulations to those who completed the scheme this month.
